PhD Student, School for Science and Conservation

Being from a small village in Kerala in the shadow of Western Ghats, I grew up as a strong nature enthusiast. Forests and woods always fascinated me since my childhood days. I have an honors degree in Forestry and completed my master’s too in the same discipline with a specialization in Natural Resource Management. I did my master’s research on the ecology of Nageia wallichiana, the lone conifer of the Western Ghats. The days wandering through the forests in search of this tree giant made me an exact tree-lover. I am curious in understanding how tropical tree communities are structured and how they are modified in human-altered landscapes. I am interested in conservation writing in my local language – Malayalam, environment outreach as well as Citizen Science activities.
