One of our three nature discovery centres, EcoQuest (Mysore) was a collaborative project with Keystone Foundation.
Nature discovery for urban audiences
EcoQuest was an public communication initiative that tried to link urban audiences to wildlife conservation and human livelihood issues in the Western Ghats region. EcoQuest was an interactive centre, with information and activities built around an appreciation of nature and wildlife conservation issues, not only in a manner that was science-based, but also aspired to leverage other modes of interaction between people and nature such as visual and performing art. It also offered a space to host workshops, film shows and talks for students and the public.
It was the third Nature Discovery Centre of its kind, the other two being in Valparai and Ooty.
The centre functioned from early 2011 to late 2013.
