Project Associate, High Altitudes

MA, Sociology, M.Phil., and Ph.D. Scholar (Thesis submitted), University of Jammu.

My interest in the environmental issues has grown up after going for the Agenda for Survival (AFS) course with Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) in 2012. Thereafter, I am involved with various NGOs and movements for the diverse environmental issues. Academically, I had carried out an ethnographic research on the Changpa Tribe of Ladakh from last six years on 'dialectics of Changthang ecology and modernization'. Having a social science background and venturing with the pure scientists with NCF would be an exciting and perfect space to chisel my research understanding. My prime interest with the NCF is to involve the local stakeholders with the various programmes under High Altitude Programme and to widen the scope to maximum areas in Ladakh to conserve the rich biodiversity of Himalaya.
