Programme Coordinator, Eastern Himalaya
MSc Wildlife Biology and Conservation
I am an ecologist with an undergraduate degree in communication studies and a Master’s degree in Wildlife Biology and Conservation. I studied mangrove forests in the Andaman Islands for the past three years (supported by the Rufford Small Grant Foundation and Ravi Sankaran Inlaks Fellowship). I examined the effect of the 2004 Tsunami and Earthquake on different mangrove plant species on the islands. I also looked at how people on the islands used mangrove forests. I joined the Eastern Himalaya Program at NCF to explore conservation work, new ecosystems and writing.
