Passionate about human and nature relationships. I am a social worker with a focus on medical and psychiatry. Before stepping into the wildlife research area, I spent some time working with teachers, parents and children to conduct educational activities and counselling.
In 2018, joined NCF-Oceans and Coasts Programme to explore the emerging reef fisheries as well as the household consumption patterns of fish and water in the Lakshadweep archipelago (some of the basic resources required for survival in the islands).
At present, my focus has broadened in understanding the changing nature-food relationships and what past and current food practices can tell us about societal connections with local nature in Lakshadweep. My broader interest lies in the field of environmental psychology and human geography.
Apart from my research interests, I enjoy drawing, painting, and watching movies.
