Research Assistant, Western Ghats

MSc

After completing my Master's degree in Botany from Union Christian College, Aluva, I worked for two years at the Tropical Ecology Lab at Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI), Peechi. While working at KFRI, I realized the scope monitoring of permanent forest plots offers in understanding the functioning of forest ecosystems and the necessity for its conservation. My primary research interest is in understanding how rainforests respond to climate change. Currently, I am working with the Rainforest Restoration Project in the Anamalai Hills, in the southern Western Ghats, where I monitor the long-term restoration experiment, ecological forest dynamics plots, and tropical tree phenology. As an enthusiastic ecologist, I am eagerly looking forward to studying and implementing strategies for scientific ecosystem conservation.
