Research Assistant, Western Ghats

MSc

I got my MSc in Wildlife Biology and Conservation from the National Centre for Biological Sciences in 2020. For my master's dissertation, I tried to find out whether wildfires promote pine invasion into oak forests in Uttarakhand. Currently I am working in the Western Ghats, looking at the role of coarse woody debris (dead wood) in vegetation and carbon dynamics in a tropical rainforest. Though I tell everyone I am not sure what I am interested in, it is suspected that this is to hide my bias towards plant ecology despite struggling to identify even jackfruit trees.
