M.Sc Wildlife Biology and Conservation, National Centre for Biological Sciences

After my master's degree from the National Centre for Biological Sciences, I expanded my research in aquatic ecology to incorporate the marine realm as well. I primarily work in the Lakshadweep archipelago on the the bio-physical aspects of coral atolls. Currently with NCF, I am studying the limits to habitability in these frontier seascapes. The habitability of coral atolls is also my doctoral thesis which attempts to link multiple disciplines to understand how long coral atolls can sustain human settlements. Combining ecosystems ecology with oceanography, hydrology, geomorphology and climate science, I hope to arrive at a better understanding of how small islands behave in the face of climate change. I also happen to moonlight as a bassist for a jazz fusion trio in Bangalore.
