Pakke Nature Information Centre
A new learning and activity centre for visitors to Pakke Tiger Reserve
Learning about Pakke
In June 2014, we completed work on a Nature Interpretation Centre for visitors to the Pakke Tiger Reserve. The Interpretation Centre features over 30 posters highlighting flora and fauna of Pakke TR and surrounding forests, ecosystem processes in these rainforests and the life of the local Nyishi community. There are also several interactive games and exhibits on Arunachal. The Forest Department provided the primary funding support to set up the centre along with funds from the Whitley Fund for Nature. This centre is a permanent learning centre for the local people and visitors to the area, and is becoming a useful space for children from local schools to learn about Pakke's biodiversity.
