Endangered bird distributions

Understanding distributions of White-bellied Heron and White-winged Duck 

This project aims to systematically document the past and present distribution of the two endangered birds, the White-bellied heron Ardea insignis and the White-winged duck Asarcornis scutulata in the Brahmaputra river basin, India. 

Field surveys for the heron & duck

We are conducting systematic field and questionnaire surveys across different tributaries of River Brahmaputra including Noa Dehing, Lohit, Dibang, Siang, Subansiri and Kameng to determine presence of the two species in the landscape
