BSc. Zoology (St. Xavier's College, Mumbai)

Though my academic research is on bats, my hobby of birdwatching predates my interest in bats--which works excellently for me because when I'm on field, I can watch birds during the day and work on bats at night!

At NCF, I pursue my non-academic interests of education and outreach. I'm involved with reaching out to birding groups in different parts of the country about eBird (a global, checklist-based program for birders). I also work towards equipping these groups to undertake their own small projects to monitor the birds of their cities. That is just a sophisticated and euphemistic way of saying that I get paid to travel and interact with birders from across the country; and when that's over, I find time to tick birds off my list!
