Growing up in the garden city of Bangalore and also spending vacations at my grandparents place in Sakaleshpur naturally helped me develop a deep interest in nature while art became my medium of expression. Love for animals led her me to get involved in rescue and rehabilitation of urban wildlife during my college days and I got trained in small wildlife medicine, husbandry and repatriation.  After a short stint in the corporate sector and volunteering with wildlife conservation organisations I pursued my education in Ecology as I wanted to continue in the field of nature conservation.

My entry into ecological research was at ATREEwhere I worked on a research project which looked at water use in agriculture and its impact on diversity and local migration patterns of wetland birds in the buffer zone of KMTR, Tamil Nadu. I also Coordinated the Natural Resource Awareness (DNA club) programme where I got to interact with students and teachers of several rural schools of Karnataka. After more than 4 years of working with ATREE I joined the Bird migration studies team of BNHS where I got involved in bird ringing projects. I am currently part of the Education and Public Engagement team of NCF with the Early Bird Programme.

While I feel at home in the wilderness I am also keen on using my experience in field ecology and my training in both visual and performing arts to convey the message of nature conservation.
